Day 42: Going, going, gone.

I've missed a few days. Caught in the whirlwind of renovating our suite, shopping for appliances and supplies, and nursing my poor little sick buddy.

We've made some serious progress. There is a frame for the wall that will seperate them from us, the bathroom is at the tile stage, and we bought a new washer and dryer. Step by mighty step, closer to the finish line.

So first, let me just say that I am a nay sayer of the "stick your vinyl tiles in the oven to make them more pliable" method. Pliable yes, but also de-stickified. And because you need sticky tiles to make the whole thing work, oven is out. I find the "slice little tiny slices off until it finally fits" method works best for me. Perhaps a little time consuming but oh well.

Another thing I discovered is that if you prime with oil based primer over wallpaper glue left over from the peeled off wallpaper, then mud, then reprime, then paint, you'll end up with a pretty decent paint job. Perhaps not perfect...but done.

I have been stalled many a time by perfection. University papers were a real problem, until I got told by a prof when I tried to delay my deadline, reason being that it wasn't perfect, that "Perfection can be an obstacle." I realized that, without a deadline, I could be working on a paper forever and that I had to get over it. At the time it was kind of a hard pill to swallow, and I think I probably cried about it for a bit, but, perfect or not, things need to get done and time runs out. So now, as much as I like to shine through my work, I also must accept that sometimes things are good enough and that that's ok. (I repeat from the last post.)

Anyways, things are going well. More importantly, they're going.
