Now this was his day.
It's funny how this has become my new normal. All the ceremony, tradition, formality...the way events like these go, like clockwork, and that I know what to expect and when.
Today was different though, if only slightly. Today 'I' got honoured too, much to my surprise and delight. He thanked me in his speech, they thanked me with flowers, me, the wife, the keeper of home, got acknowledged and appreciated, and that made me feel like an important part of what he does.
He deserved today. Every strange and hilarious moment of it.
I'll never know exactly what he does or how hard he works, but the kind and revering words I was privy to today only confirm that I've landed someone pretty special.
We are so proud of you baby. This has been a great year.
