I am proud. Proud of my husband, proud to be Canadian, proud of my daughter, proud of me.
We went, this morning, to the cenotaph. We went to pay homage, to honour, to respect and to remember. We went, us three, and thought of him, doing his duty. And I was so proud.
I am.
My daughter sang "O Canada" and knew every word. She added the "dun da duns" where appropriate, finishing off with a "Dun dala dun dun dun". She sang with her hand raised to her brow in salute...a perfect practiced salute. Just like her dad's.
